In my opinion music makes a film, it has the ability change your feelings to the correct emotion which I find incredibly clever and my chosen film to show this is Pinocchio. Although this is a Disney film with a certificate 'U' and aimed for children I can't help but love this film one of the main is because of the music and sound used to create emotion and atmosphere. In the first part of the clip where they have provoked the whale in order to get free the music used when they get out of inside it, the music is rapidly building up to a climax and makes you feel really on edge and you wish they would hurry and escape. When Geppetto (Pinocchio's Dad) is washed up on the shore to safety the music is immediately calmer and gives a sense of relief that he is out of harms way and you can just hear the gentle sound of the waves, you then see the cat and the goldfish wash up on shore shortly after, the music then becomes slow and depressing as Geppetto begins to breathe heavily and call out to Pinocchio to save himself. As Jiminy Cricket looks around to find Pinocchio, calling his name his face then goes into shock as you then see a shot of Pinocchio with his face with in a puddle and the music suddenly play orchestra music loudly which then puts us into shock and despair to whether he's alive or not, sharing Jiminy's emotions and that image slowly fades out and then fades into Pinocchio lying down dead. The camera zooms out to show Geppetto knelt down by the bed side crying with sad upsetting music playing, the camera then shows Jiminy, the cat and the goldfish's faces up close revealing their current emotions; they are all distressed and crying and with the music added on top of this you can't help but feel how they do. The best part of the film without a doubt is when Pinocchio is brought back to life by the fairy and Geppetto makes a celebration and plays all the clocks and music, then Jiminy goes outside the window to thank the fairy and gets rewarded with an 'official conscience' medal and Jiminy looks so happy and pleased aw he's so cute! Then my favourite song is played at the end to draw the film to a close 'when your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme, oh when you wish upon a star, your dreams come true', I love these lyrics and think it's a very nice way to end the film. I found it quite embarrasing at first choosing this film for my film work but I love it and you're never too old for Pinocchio!! ...and all other Disney films lol.

Excellent Ellie, just don't forget to use the correct terms e.g. diegetic, non-diegetic etc.
